Maithili Thakur is an Indian singer. She rose to fame in 2017 when she participated in Season 1 of Rising Star. Maithili was the first finalist of the show to sing Om Namah Shivaya Song, which made her debut in the finals. She came in the second rank after losing by two votes.

After that show, Maithili started becoming an internet sensation. And today Maithili has become a folk singer with his hard work and dedication.

She sings songs in Maithili and Bhojpuri languages. She also sings a variety of Bollywood covers and other traditional folk music from other states.

Maithili Thakur was born on 25 July 2000 in a small town called Benipatti in Madhubani district of Bihar. Her father’s name is Ramesh Thakur and he is also a music teacher and Maithili’s mother’s name is Mata Bharti Thakur and she is a housewife.

She has two younger brothers, Rishav Thakur and Ayachi Thakur. And Rishav is on tabla and Ayachi is a singer.

Maithili and his two brothers were educated at Bal Bhavan International School. Even during his studies, the three siblings were trained by her father in Hindustani classical music, harmonium and tabla.

Maithili’s musical journey began in 2011, when she appeared on a reality show called Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs, aired on Zee TV. Although she has appeared in many local shows before, but she got recognition through this reality show.

Four years later, she aired on another reality show called Indian Idol Junior, on Sony TV. But she became a national sensation through the reality show Rising Star, in which she ended up as a runner-up.

From the early stages of the show, Maithili had more popularity. She is always seen with her two younger brothers, Rishav and Ayachi. Rishav is on tabla and Ayachi is a singer.

In 2019 Maithili and his two brothers were made the brand ambassadors of Madhubani by the Election Commission. Her Facebook channel has over 9 million followers and YouTube on 2.5 million subscribers and has over 2 million followers on Instagram.
